Raffia is a fiber derived from the leaves (fronds) of the Raffia Palm in the country of Madagascar. The fronds are then made into strips and either dyed or kept the natural color.  It  comes packaged into bags containing various length and width strips.  Raffia has a natural "straw-like" feel and is an extremely versatile fiber used for crafting, handicraft and decorative projects.
